Update Overload!

Hello Blogworld!  I have been running around like a proverbial grass-fed free range chicken with his head cut off the past 2 days!  Prepping for the interviews tomorrow for Eight To The Eights has been INSANE, but so much fun.  We have had an overwhelming response, and I wish we could take each and every team that applied.

Rewinding to yesterday…..I now present you, a day in the life of Oli (the boxer pup):

Pretty exhausting, eh?  😉

Sam manages to be a bit more elusive, but always shows up when there is food involved:

Speaking of sweet potato fries, that brings me to my fabulous lunch from yesterday!  Tried a new Gardenburger this time around…

So I took a wrap, sprinkled some cheese, sprouts, spinach, and the chopped “burger” on top…

Layers -o- joy!

This is where the sweet potato fries came into play (beautifully!)

After lunch/email/blog stalking 😉 It was time to prep for my KidFit class, and Total Body HIIT.

KidFit was hilarious as always.  They love doing sprint relays, and love even more when I time them to see if they can improve their times.  We basically ran the whole 45 minutes…..score!

Total Body HIIT was a sweat SESSION.  I don’t know if the gym was hotter than normal or what, but by the first working song (squats) I had sweat dripping from my elbows!  TMI, but totally needed to get the mental  image going, huh?  After class was over I ran down to the Chop House to meet with the team to go over the applications for Eight To The Eights.  Had a random, but lovely, dinner…which included a massive salad:

(see, there was totally work going on in between bites….we had a MASSIVE stack of applications to review!)

There was also my second round of sweet potato lovin’ of the day:

Do you see that massive dollop of cinnamon butter love?!?!  I tried to pick it off, but it was too delcious.  😉

Good food, good friends, good times!!!  Plus, we got alot of work done for the program!

After dinner I had a much needed movie date with Maggie.  Can I just confess my love for our little local movie theatre???  This is not the main one in the mall, but one located near it.  It is small, quaint, and adorable.  The ticket prices are super low ($5.50 a movie!!!) and the staff are so nice.  We got there a little late for the movie, but just for the fun of it, they put us in our OWN theatre….and started it over.  How amazing is that?!?!  They also may or may not have GIVEN us a tub of popcorn the size of a small bathtub.  That bad boy went undocumented, I’m afraid.  Use your imagination to picture the devouring of corn that commenced.

I hit the hay the instant my head hit the pillow, and awoke a short 5 hours later for 5:45am spin!  Did I mention that I picked up two more 5:45am classes at the YMCA which means I now teach an early class EVERY weekday.  What am I thinking?!?!?! I will be doing a Total Body HIIT on Tuesday mornings, and an Interval Circuit class on Thursdays until one of our instructors comes back from maternity leave.

After Spin, major carb replenishment was needed, and what better place to serve that then the Barrel!  Started with a gallon or so of the good stuff:

Then moved on to more delicious options….aka pecan pancakes!!!

See that giant BLOB of butter in the background?!?!  I was able to fend it off, unlike the cinnamon butter love on the sweet potato from earlier.  Topped with da best syrup evah!

Deeeeeeee-lish.

After breakfast, I worked on calling applicants for Eight To The Eights, and scheduling interviews.  We will be having 10 minute blocks to interview each team/individual, and I get to be on the judging panel!  We had to turn alot of applicants down right away just because we do not have time to interview them all.  Sad day.  It breaks my heart, and I wish we could take EVERY person.  *sigh*

I now sit here at Panizzle, blogging, eating, and relaxing…before work calls my name again at 4:30.

Their veggie sandwich is thebomb.com!

Later bloggies.  Have an AWESOME Friday!  Did I mention that in a mere 24 hours I will be heading to Knoxvegas to see KATHY GRIFFIN LIVE?!?!?!  Eeeeeeek!!!!  🙂

I can smell Friday!!!!

It’s so close!!!!!

We left last off with me on an extremely jittery caffeine rush that actually turned out to be quite the productive afternoon.  What can I say, the coffee makes things happen.  I didn’t even nap!!!!  It must be the apocalypse!    Had a bangin’ snack while being productive and waiting for lunch:

Nice red pear plus my new obsession, Oikos style…CARMEL Greek Yogurt.  Whoooooa-mgah.

Cinnamon on top, made the perfect fruit dip.

Mmmmmm.

Finished my new spin playlist (see my last post for the new ideas I was tossing around) and in the meantime started thinking about lunch which eventually became a jumble of deliciousness!

Gardenburger with provolone and spinach….Veggie Booty (aka CRACK COCAINE) and some Brocc/Jalapeno Hummus.

Yum times.

I don’t know what it is specifically that makes the Veggie Pirate Booty so effing amazing, but I am telling you.  If I knew some foreign government secret, and was being held hostage…one bag of these little cuties waved in front of my face would have me squealin’ faster than a pig headin’ for the bacon shop!  Word.

Snack on the way to my classes (Kid Fit/Total Body HIIT) was slightly boring, but kept the doctor away:

And then jazzed myself up for Total Body HIIT with some magical beans…

Tonight.  Kicked.  My.  Butt.

I’m not sure if it was the fact that the gym felt like it was slightly warmer than Hades, or that I had already killed lower body this morning, but good NIGHT, it was a doozy.  Fun times though!

Gotta love the squats.

Even better when we step on/off the bench in low pulses.  Muhahahaha

Quick…raise your hands if you heart Tyler.

Aren’t they sweet.  😉

Best part was, Ashlei came!!!!!!

Ignore the fact that we are Sweatasaurus’.  She also came baring gifts of home made RAW onion bread, and raw-nola!  Am I lucky, or what?!?! 😉

Rushed home as fast as I could and yet again just threw some random items together for dinner.  Started with an egg puff, fitnessista style…

1 egg…nutritional yeast (nooch!), red pepper flakes, all nuked for two minutes.

Topped it with provolone, and put that bad boy on a whole grain English Muffin!

The monkey on the plate wanted the sammie.

Also steamed some broccoli, and added salsa/Greek Yogurt, and some carrots and Jalapeno Hummus! (current obsesssssion)

Shew.  What a day.  I love that it started and ended in the gym!  Good times!

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!! So stoked.  I have spin at 5:45am (new cd-izzle, so stoked…I love maiden voyages!) and then a meeting at 11:00 about our city’s version of Biggest Loser….it is getting very exciting people!  I get to be Bob…how friggin awesome is that?!?!  Well, as Bob-esque as I can be, haha.

I leave you with a hilarious Justin Bieber parody.  Goodnight.

Remember…there are still 3 days left to enter for FREE Endangered Species Chocolate. Check it out HERE! Free chocolate…save some animals…it’s pretty much win/win.  Why haven’t you entered yet?!?!

Mystery Bizzle!!!!!!!!!

Thats right…it’s time to finally see what is inside of the mystery box!!!!!!!  Who is excited?!?!

For starters, is is Monday…and boy do I know it.

Got up extra early and did some Power Pump’age at my other gym this morning, because quite frankly I am still feeling the guilt from the MASSIVE amounts of cake I consumed last night.  (See my last post for all the gory details.)  For those who haven’t taken or heard of Power Pump, it is a 60 minute class that works each muscle group for a period of time, usually 4 minutes, with a 1 minute break in between to change out equipment.  This involves anything from decreasing/increasing weight, to switching from bar to dumb bell, etc.  Great class, and a super way to get in your weight workout for the day.

Chugged my protein shake (half before…half after), and then headed to do Yoga with the kiddos.

I am loving this Yoga/Cardio sponsorship program through the YMCA and the local schools!  School is almost over for them which is depressing.  My Monday’s will feel so different without them!

Have I mentioned how much I missed these guys this weekend:

I promise…she’s not dead.  She’s just comatose.

Needless to say at this point it was 8:30 and my body was in NEED of some breakfast.  Enter my classic.

Chia-Oat-Goodness!  This bowl was extra special and topped with my last (depression) blob of Trader Joe’s Almond Butter, and my new glorious Trail Mix I picked up at Fresh Market while in Georgia this weekend!

Chia oats are always, allllllways a big winner in my book.  I nuked the nana ahead of time and got it nice and melty, then cooked it WITH the oats.  Who needs to sweeten oatmeal when you have a banana!?!

After breakfast I collapsed into a mini coma, and woke up just in time to get my class together for my Lunch Sculpt class.  Snacked on a classic as I dashed out the door..

2 pieces of millet toast, with homeade pumpkin butter….flax seed….and cinnamon

Yumminess.  I’m not even sure if this snack made it from the kitchen to my car.  That good!

Went and taught Express Sculpt and incorporated some new killer moves for the booty!  Gotta love some pelvic thrusts, while back planking on a ball, with a weight on your hips!!!  Sounds fun, yes?!?!

I was/am in desperate need of groceries and some basic items, but I was on a major time crunch…so I had to go to the Wal*Mizzle.  I have to say, I was very proud of Wal*Mart today.  Not only did they have a ton of great produce, but alot of it was on sale!!!  Score!

The strawberries were $1.98 a carton, the mangoes were .98 each….and then I saw the items that literally produced a girl scream from my mouth WHILE in the store.  I was that excited.

ALMOND BUTTER AT WALMART?!?!?!?!?!?!?!  Did I mention these were $3.78 each?!?!?!  I was literally in shock.  Plus, I had never even SEEN the Dark Chocolate Spread!!!!  So excited!  Seriously, I think I almost lost it in the aisle.  People were staring.

Seriously though, I was stoked at all my nice finds, and surprised!

Came home famished with lunch on the brain…

Threw together a veggie burger on Arnold’s Thin, with Laughing Cow Swiss, spinach, and some ketchup.  Was also craving veggies like whoah, so I got to roasting the Sweet Potatoes and Asparagus.

Topped the veggies with nooch (nutritional yeast), and plated with some Veggie Pirate Booty (aka CRACK!)

Dessert was a serving (minus one) of my new Chocolate Cookies that Ashlei lovingly gave me! 😉 Sandwiched with raw honey goodness.

With a full belly, it was time to FULL DISCLOSE THE MYSTERY BOX!!!!!!!

Did anyone guess it?!?!  Let’s see.

When the amazing people over at Endangered Species Chocolate contacted me, I could have pretty much exploded with blog-citement!!!!  My favorite chocolate wanted to do a giveaway for my readers?!?!?!  Seriously, amazing!  They also may have sent me some to taste test as well.  😉

Heres what the lucky winner will receive:

3 oz. Bars:

1.4 oz. Bars:

Milk Chocolate Treats:

Can you say WOW?!?!?!?!

How do you win this amazingness?!?!       Check back tonight.   😉

Thank you so much Terri!  Her blog is totally inspiring, and is a definite must read!  In her tradition, I will now pass on this award to 12 other of my favorite bloggers.  All these ladies (and men!) make an impact in my day, and are daily reads!

  • Emily: Emily is my favorite “Clean Eater” and doesn’t hurt that she is one of my best friends who lives 20 minutes away.  We have gotten so close over the past few months, and she rocks my world!  We just did the Gasparilla Half Marathon together, and it was a blast and a half!
  • Julie: Julie absolutely cracks me up each and every day.  Her blog is always full of LOL moments…PLEASE check her out!  She is my Bean Town soul-mate, and makes killer oats each and everyday!

  • Alicia: This super chick joins me in the “lost 140 lb club” can you believe it?!?!  Her posts are cute, funny, and totally delicious.
  • Katie: is the divalicious bloggin’ super star who I totally adore!  She makes pink, and everything else, ROCK!  LOVE this girl.

  • Jill: Hilarious, and amazing food ideas…you have to check her out!

Congrats guys…now it’s your turn!  Pay it forward, and distribute that award! 😉

Express Spin class was amazing today.  I swear, even though it is only 30 minutes…by combining the “toughest” songs, we are able to work up to just as much of a sweat factory in the hour long class!  Love it!

Came home from Spin famished, and ready for a nice lunch.  I am currently obsessed with the Gardenburger..

I am a fan of any veggie burger with real veggie CHUNKS in it!

That’s some melty organic cheese goodness on my favorite whole wheat mini pocket!  Also steamed up a lima bean/broccoli combo and drenched it with Nooch (Nutritional Yeast)

Veggie Stix, and the meal was complete:

Some Broccoli Sprouts added some veggie heft to this sucka.  Dessert was yummy and simple.  Huge apple and an Attune.

I became semi-productive, and got alot done around the house before heading to work.

While waiting on dinner I had a “kind” snack.  (har, har, har.)

These are quickly becoming my favorite bars!

Dinner was the classic “at-work” staple!

Half Mediterranean Veggie Sammie (Wheat bread, Mozz instead of feta) and half the veggie pesto soup-o-joy.

Dessert was brought from home and was a mixture of 2 coconut rolled date logs, and some deeeeeeelicious dark chocolate ovals from the Earth Fizz.

There is seriously NOTHING better than good, dark, chocolate.  The simpler the better in my books.

Well bloggies, have a wondermous evening, will you???

GIVEAWAY tomorrow.  It is going to be a good one.

Here is your clue:

Think Greek!

Anyone got some spare crutches???

I.  Cannot.  Move.  hahahaha, it is quite hilarious to see me limping around today.  Totally worth it though.  Half Marathon was amazing!  I woke up this morning, and CRAWLED out of bed long enough to find my new best friend.

It was all I could do not to just turn up the bottle in hope of some instant relief.  Felt a bit better when I had instantly gotten texts from both Emily and Kim with the standard “omg I cannot MOVE!” message.  That eased my pain, knowing I wasn’t the only one.  What’s mainly hurting my today is the knee (bah, I am used to it) and the right hip.  I think the hip is hurting because I kept having to put all my weight on it to give my knee relief.  Ah well, I am sore and it stinks…but it will fade…eventually.  On to breakfast!

Come one people.   You know the souvenir coffee mug has some instant cheer factor.  My oats had the classic:

  • 1/4th Cup Oats
  • 1 Cup Almond Milk
  • 3 TBSP Flax Seed
  • 1 Truvia
  • Banana
  • Soy-nola

I call it Soy-nola, because it is chocked full of yummy soy nuts!  I love this combo!

Yummmmmm.

Finally decided to unpack everything, and cleaned my room while hobbling around.  The dog’s thought I was nuts, and I am pretty sure they were wondering why their father was walking around like a zombie from the waist down.  I missed this face!

Which reminds me that he is almost in need for a groomer visit!

Lunch was simple yet delicious.  Started with some Ezekiel Bread and Laughing Cow Light Swiss:

I topped these yummies with a Gardenburger, and some Broccoli Slaw that I had wilted in a pan to get nice and soft:

Roasted some brussels on the side complete with a few dashes of red pepper flakes:

Dessert was an amazing surprise!  I am still on my 14 day Attune challenge.  I opened up my fridge to start my second box of these suckers, and realized that they had sent me the second box as a mixture of all their flavors!  Score!!

I was stoked!  Went for the Almond goodness.

Yum-ville!  Not that I didn’t/don’t love the vanilla blueberry, but I love all these new options!  Yay Attune, I heart you.

P.S., here was the Half Marathon song list!

I went back to Pyromania around mile 11/12, because it is ahhhhh-mazing.  It was awesome to sprint to the end with!

Time to go teach high school Yoga, then to teach Spin tonight!  I have missed being back in the groove of things!

Later bloggies!

Free Chocolate Time!!!!

Well, I have a winner of the Attune chocolate!!!  More later.  😉

Monday’s tend to be particularly long and consist of four classes spread over the course of a day.  I started out with my KidFit Yoga this morning at 7:45.  These kids continue to crack me up, but it is so fun to show them all these yoga moves…and have them actually remember them from week to week!  I rushed home dreaming of an oatmeal combination.

This bad boy had:

1/2 Cup Oats

1 Cup Almond Milk

2 TBSP Flax Seed

1/2 Cup Blueberries

1/4 Cup Chopped Walnuts

Also got to try out my new Truvia that I got last night!  Since I gave up Splenda for Lent…I needed some NATURAL sweetener!  😉

(The pills are my new joint supplement I am trying for the ole knee!)

Yummmmm.  After I was nice and full from breakfast, I had full intentions of being productive and working on a new Spin CD.  A two hour nap with the puppers won over, I am sorry to say.  I love naps, and recommend them to everyone!  They are great to re-energize!  Plus, who doesn’t like to sleep?  Come on.  I woke up, and it was time to head to the YMCA for Express Sculpt.  Grabbed my snack to go:

H2O goodness, and a huge nana with Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter

I specifically didn’t add PB to my oats this morning, because I knew I wanted this beast as a snack!

Express Sculpt was great today!  Normally in my 60/90 minute weight classes I have the participants go lower weight, and higher reps.  Today we switched it up and had high weights with low reps.  I love the 30 minute class, because I get to quickly hit the major muscle groups back to back…here was the line-up:

  • Squats with bar on shoulder, various counts (singles…2/2….6/2…..2/6…etc.)
  • Chest Press on bench with bar, various counts
  • Walking Lunges with bar help in overhead press, lower modification was bar on shoulders
  • Bicep Curls with bar, various counts
  • Dead Lifts with added row, various counts
  • Calf Raises on bench
  • Shoulders (Overhead press/squat combo)

I was famished and ready for a yummy lunch, so I headed home and decided to try out my new veggie burgers…who could resist this guy:

I loved this burger because it was delicious AND you could actually see giant chunks of veggies.  Double word score!!!  🙂  I put the burger on half a whole wheat pita pocket, and added some Laughing Cow Light Swiss, and Broccoli Slaw:

Added my favorite Veggie Stix and some carrots/hummus:

Why does he always show up looking depressed when it is food time?!

Yes….he sampled it all.

Finished off with some dark chocolate Edamame Beans, all of which went in MY mouth, and not the pups.

Chocolate is bad for dogs, I was just being a good owner.      ……don’t look at me like that.

Now onto the most exciting news of the morning!!!!

Free Attune chocolate!!!!  14 Day Supply, baby!

First, I want to say thank you SO much to everyone for making my first (of hopefully many) giveaways!!!  Secondly, thanks to the wonderful people at Attune!  Now…onto the winner…

Number 37 (not counting my two posts in the comments) is……

Congrats, Misty!!!!  You have won a 14 day supply of Attune Chocolate Bars!  I will contact you soon with more information!

Thanks to everyone for entering.

Well…I HAVE to make a new spin cd-izzle for class tonight, or they are going to revolt.  I also need to prep for my High School Yoga class!  Any new song suggestions, guys?
