2 Buck Booty.

My fay-voh-rite snack, Pirate Booty was on sale at the Earth Feezy today for 2 bucks.  Is it sad that things like this not only MAKE my day, but prompt my blog title?!?!?!  If so, I completely embrace the pathetic-ness up front. 😉

Firstly…lets back track.  Today was the first day of running in 3 weeks thanks to the bum knee, so Steph and I set out on our favorite 5 mile course!

She was totally enthused to have her picture taken, let me TELL you. hahahaha  She also wants the blog world to know that she isn’t completely pigeon toe’d as the picture would have you believe.

I, however, am always ready with some sort of cheesy pose.

Rocked the 5 miles at a slow and steady 9:00 pace.  My knee started hurting around mile 4, but I was stoked that I made it so long without pain!  Stretched a TON when we got done, and it feels back to normal!  Normally this knee pain is HARDCORE and lasts a while, so I was happy to not be feeling it shortly after.  I am hoping that means I am somewhat ok.

After the run it was time to replenish the carbs….pizza anyone?!

This place is so fun!

My choice was a no brainer.  Mega Veggie!  I got the smallest one (which was still giganohughnormous) so I could have leftovers for work later tonight:

My portion for lunch (x2)

See, she doesnt always have that odd look on her face:

Did I mention that the crust is my absolute FAVORITE part?!?!

After lunch we headed to the place that warms my heart:

Don’t you love that BESIDE the Earth Fare is a friggin’ Donut Shop?!?!  Irony at it’s finest.  I think Steph and I were most excited for the bulk fooded, of which we sampled muchly.

I didn’t even make it to the car before I tore into the bags:

I adore dried/unsweetened pineapples!!!  Check out the loot (including the 2 buck booty!)

I still have to make a fruit/veggie run tonight, but I got the basics while at the Feezy.  Look at these containers of joy!

Then headed to work where other employees decided it was random photoshoot time for the blog:

Can anyone name the booty in the background?!?!  She is mentioned frequently in the blog.

Melissssssaaaaah! 🙂

Snackage was a yummy combo of Granola and Chobani:

And dinner was leftover pizza!

Which was even better cold, believe it or not.

And you know I couldnt go a night without saving an animal.  I mean come on…the butterfly was calling my name hardcore.

It was awful.  AWFUL.  😉  Ok………awful = gone instantly.  So much for “savoring” the chocolate.  I eat my food like some crazed lunatic, and then wonder where it went when it’s gone.

Well, another Tuesday gone.  Spin class is calling my name at 5:45am.  I am using a new CD, can’t wait to see what they think of it!

Do you exhibit crazy like behavior while grocery shopping like I do?!?!  Do you typically make lists, or just kind of go and grab?

  1. From Party To Hearty

I spend way too much time in the grocery store. I know what I want, but I still end up roaming the aisles way too long! I make a general list because I also forget the staples if I don’t make one. I like your grocery stash! I need to go there this week. And there are no Mellow Mushrooms up here but i hear good things about them. Glad you had a nice run!

  2. I’m definitely a go and grab shopper! I have a checklist on my phone to make sure I don’t forget any staples (cereal, almond milk, apples, and the like), but for the most part I just get what looks interesting!!

That pizza looks like the most delicious post-run fuel! I love all the veggies on it 🙂 Have a great hump day!!

  3. I only went grocery shopping once without a list and I’ll never do it again!! I felt so frazzled and was just grabbing random stuff. I bought stuff I already had and didn’t get the stuff I needed.
We have matching granola containers 🙂 it’s love!

  4. I have a coupon problem so I am always searching around for the best prices on organic goodies that I haven’t tried. I seriously go down every single aisle just so I won’t miss anything that might be fun to try. My fiance hates going to the grocery with me because it takes forever.

    • Oh yes. My trips are like amusement park visits, I must see and do everything. I tell everyone this who dares to go with me. Almost like a pre-warning. “I WILL be walking up and down all the aisles and examining every item.”

  5. I’m definitely a list kind of girl…but purely to keep my sanity and my wallet happy. Otherwise I’d go nuts. But list and all I’d be lying if I said I didn’t pick up a few fun extras here and there.

I wish we had a Mellow Mushroom Pizza place here! booo!!

  6. That chocolate is the best. I’ve downed a full size one of the same flavor in 2 days. My parents remember to get it for me because of the butterfly picture, lol

  7. Love the funny pics! 😉

    And that pizza looks yumilicious!!!

Grocery store? Hmmm…. Most of the time, I make my list according to the way the store is mapped out. Seriously. I’m a little weird. LOL – But I can budget like there’s no tomorrow! 😉

  8. OMG….I haven’t saved a butterfly yet!!! Must.do.soon!! And love that Steph is tagged in this post! 🙂

  9. I take like 2 hours grocery shopping. It is really sad! I usually have a list of what I have to get, then I go wild on everything else. I always make sure to get a few “fun” purchases every trip as well.

  10. What kind of granola is that? It looks amazing – such big clusters!

And, I make a list for groceries. I go in, get mostly everything on the list (if they have it), and then I add a few more things (okay….a lot more than a few!) into my cart. Hehe 🙂

  11. I am a list maker and a grab-whatever-looks-yummy kind of grocery shopper. I had my list last visit to the grocery store (and still spent boatloads of money) and also got a new item – Marantha Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter. OMG. Glorious.

I am so glad to hear you’re running again. What stretching exercises do you do after running to keep the knee from hurting?

I’m not at the point of running (I walk – too overweight at the moment to run), but I always seem to have lower back pain. I know that with time it will dissipate, but I also need to stretch more, including my legs!

Thanks for another great blog, Tyler!

    • You will get there!!!! Totally. You may want to look into the Galloway method which includes periods of walking intertwined with periods of running. We are working on that in a running group I am coaching in, check it out.

As far as stretches and exercises, I am doing some hip strengthening exercises that my PT gave me. They seem to be helping!

  12. I used to be a mega-list maker (like we’d make a list and buy all our staples for a month at a time and then just buy fresh produce/dairy each week) but over the past few months I’ve become a grab-and-go shopper, buying whatever looks good 🙂

    • I try to do a combo of both so I dont go into grocery overload. There is always 1 or 2 items that I am like “you CANNOT forget this” and without a list, I always do.

  13. I love how you and your friends are not camera shy! All of friends run away from me when they see the camera come out!

  14. GAH!!! I have so many posts to catch up on! i am by nature a crazed-lunatic shopper, although i have found making a list saves $$$…all the more better to buy more fooooooooood!

  15. So I usually make lists before grocery shopping, but I keep them pretty vague unless I have a specific product in mind that I want to try! It’s always like, “chips, crackers, nut butter, oats, english muffins, apples, etc etccc….” hahaha 🙂

I adore anything by Annie’s, especially her honey bunnies (like honey graham crackers), and the dried pineapple! I’ve been going through this little bin of dried mango like crazy lately, it’s soooo good.

Congrats on the run! Glad you re-fueled with that delicious looking pizza!
